A reflection on the Gospel for The Most Holy Trinity

We are very different from one another. Sometimes it is hard for us to understand what is inside the other person, what they might be thinking or feeling. At other times, we would like to almost be inside the other person’s heart and mind, to feel united as if we were one. The same thing happens to us in relation to God. It is not easy to speak about God. It is not easy to speak about something even more remote and mysterious than the people we have close to us whom we see and touch. “No one has ever seen God.” God belongs to another order of beings. At the same time, however, God is everywhere, in everything, and in us. Perhaps we don’t meet God as we would meet a neighbor or an acquaintance, but there are many ways to meet and to know someone. Creation is one of those ways. When we look at ourselves and at the wonder of our own body, we experience God as creator. God brought us out of nothingness and has given us life. We say that God is Father precisely because we experience him thus, generating life.

This coming Sunday, June 10th we celebrate the feast of Corpus Christi, the Body and Blood of Christ. As usual we hope to have a Procession right after the 12:00 noon Mass to honor Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.

Sunday, June 17th we celebrate Fathers Day. We pray specially for all our fathers, both living and deceased. We invite all fathers of our Parish to please come to the Mass of your choice when we would give you fathers a special blessing. Also those of you who would like to get a special Fathers Day Cards for us to remember your father at our Masses during the month of June please see our parish secretary Elisa Alvarez or Mary Harmon.

This summer, we will have Summer Camp for children here at St. Bruno’s Parish. Our Sisters, the Missionaries of Charity as usual will run these camps for children on July 30th to August 3rd and August 6th. Permission slips and volunteer forms for those who would like to assist will be available at the parish office.
